Bugs Bunny could be the greatest cartoon star ever conceived. Strange, then, that the full battery of his cartoons have never been released on video. Until now, that is! The Looney Tunes Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection finally offers the remaining spate of those missing, classic shorts. Question is...are these leftover toons any good?
Pac-Man is one of gaming's greatest stars, but for a time, he was also a hot commodity on television. Hanna-Barbera's attempt to adapt a video game character to the TV screen was the first of its kind, and it posed certain challenges; how does one convert a non-descript disc into a living, personable, relatable character?
The cartoon would be successful and prove influential for future game-to-toon productions, but does that mean it was "good?" Looking back, definitely not. And then again, definitely yes.
Cats Don't Dance is about achieving dreams and defeating discrimination. It's about a cat who won't give up. It's a nod to the golden days of entertainment.
And really, it's a celebration of life in the skin of some outrageously glorious, stupendous animation.
